10 Reasons Why Greyhound Racing SUCKS!
10.
Dog racing is boring and a waste of money.
How exciting it is to watch a bunch of emaciated dogs running
in circles, chasing a piece of metal. It takes a pretty ignorant
person to find this entertaining, and if you think you're going
to get rich betting on dog races, think again. Thankfully, judging
from the decline in track revenue, people are getting smarter
every day.
9.
The regular clientele at dog tracks are people who can hardly
afford to spend their social security and pension checks betting
on something as depressing and useless as dog racing. Shame
on the dog tracks for taking money from these people to try and
save their dying business.
8.
Tax dollars from private citizens that would be better spent fighting
crime or used to otherwise benefit the tax payers are used to
pay for police officers to patrol the dog tracks - to 'keep
crime out'.
7.
Dog tracks employ many high school and college age kids who while
working at the track are subjected to institutionalized, state
sanctioned animal abuse. What a horrible message we are sending
to the youth of America.

6.
The presence of a dog track in any town or city brings down the
value of all the surrounding property. Who would want to live
near these controversial eyesores - definitely not the high rent
district.
5.
All the dead dog bodies, which are a necessary by-product of the
dog racing industry, can pose a health risk to humans.

4.
Dog track owners often LIE about important information, such
as how many people actually work at the track. If they aren't
telling the truth about something as obvious as this, I wonder
what else they are hiding.

Greyhounds are sweet, loving creatures just like the dogs many
of us have for pets. They deserve to spend long healthy lives
bringing happiness to owners who appreciate and care about them,
not in the clutches of individuals who only want to profit from
and then dispose of them. The fact that people breed and then
mercilessly kill thousands of perfectly good dogs every year in
the name of entertainment is inexcusable.
2.
The greyhounds that are 'good enough' to race are forced to spend
their unnaturally short lives in what is the equivalent of a concentration
camp for dogs. Kept in small cages for an average of 20 hours
a day, most of these dogs are visibly on the verge of starving
to death. Once their malnourished bodies can no longer win races
and make money for their owners, they are simply killed to make
way for more young dogs to follow in their footsteps. check

In order for the dog racing industry to exist, TENS of THOUSANDS
of healthy young greyhounds must be KILLED every year for no reason!
