Hundreds of dead greyhounds reportedly buried
in the 1970's across from the Seabrook, New Hampshire dog track
were speculated to be the cause of E. Coli bacterial contamination
recently discovered in the town's water supply...
Two wells near the track were found to be the cause of the contamination.
One resident claimed 1,000 greyhounds were buried at the site
in the 1970's. Water Superintendant Warner Knowles questioned
that figure but said he had no firm numbers. Both wells are now
permanently closed.
